The Grade 8 Lock Nut, zinc plated, has the six sided hexagonal shape similar to the head of a hex bolt. Hex nuts are used along with bolts of the same diameter and are used to hold two pieces together. The Grade 8 Lock Nut is also referred to as a Grade C Lock Nut or Stover Lock Nut and is compatible with a Grade 8 bolt. This Lock Nut is an all metal top-lock; where the nut appears to be cone shaped it is actually pinched in at the top of the nut to provide the locking action of the lock nut
